(She/Her/Hers)
MSW, RSW
Hi there, my name is Baylie McKnight. I am a daughter, sister, cat lover, and world traveler. I hold a Master of Clinical Social Work from the University of British Columbia - Okanagan. I am a Registered Social Worker in the province of BC and have over 15 years of experience in the human services field. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of mental health settings such as: group homes, shelters, street outreach, health authorities, non-profits, groups, youth centres, peer support, and psychiatric hospitals.
I am passionate and dedicated to supporting folks living with borderline personality disorder and complex PTSD, and various mental health, substance use and trauma concerns. I am comprehensively trained in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and have worked for 12 years for the BPD Society of BC. My practice is also informed by Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. I utilize a multimodal approach to treatment drawing on my lived experience, training, and professional knowledge. I work from a variety of frameworks including trauma-informed practice, strengths-based, anti-oppressive, person-centred, polyvagal and attachment theory. I am a therapist who brings warmth, empathy, and validation into each session and strongly believe in a collaborative approach. I strive to create a safe, non-judgemental, and inclusive space. I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
